Future Forces 2035 - Foresight Report

How can you prepare for the future?

I led on the copy and execution of a public facing foresight piece for Magnetic, bringing to life four key drivers of change in the next decade, and their implications for FMCG, healthcare and finance.

Collaborating closely with a designer and leveraging AI art, the highly visual Future Forces 2035 remains the most downloaded report in the company’s history.

Optimism - Magnetic Book 2024

In an ever more tumultuous world, the urge is to hunker down and operate at ‘business as usual’. However, though optimism is hard, it can also enable positive disruption and radical innovation.

I developed the overall narrative theme and title as well as planned and wrote the cover feature for Magnetic’s annual thought leadership book.

‘Optimism’ launched with a marketing campaign including digital teasers, interviews, free masterclasses and an industry launch event in London’s Shoreditch.

Purpose: Built - Magnetic Book 2023

When faced with whiplash innovations, it’s hard to keep up with the ‘metaverse’, ‘Web3’ or ‘generative AI’. It’s hard to even know what it all means, and that’s okay!

I contributed an essay to Magnetic’s 2023 book, concerning the use of buzzwords to hide meaningful, exploratory conversation.

Additionally, I interviewed the co-CEO of bottle start-up Ocean Bottle, discussing the importance of a clear and tangible purpose in driving vision, impact and morale.

Brand and Business Strategy

Pet FMCG: redefining the new joiner experience

I led a global project for a world-leading pet business, to reinvent the new joiner experience for their annual intake of 10,000+ employees, through diverse experiences like a digital welcome box, immersion podcast, and e-learning experience.

Managing a team of 8 strategists and consultants, I maintained oversight and strategic coherence across a wide variety of activities, including client pitching, focus grouping, ideation workshop facilitation, brand strategy and copywriting.

Cocoa manufacturer: risk-proofing through foresight

I was the research and creative copy owner for a project for one of the world’s largest buyers of cocoa, to help determine possible future scenarios for the industry in 2050, and the policies that need to be actioned today to mitigate risks.

Using structured foresight tools and techniques, I uncovered the key drivers of change that would shape the world of cocoa, bringing them to life though creative bios of citizens living in the future.

The outcomes of this work shaped the business’ generations strategy, ensuring sustainable cocoa sourcing and upskilling practises, impacting thousands of farmers worldwide.

Global FMCG: building a philanthropy strategy

Working shoulder with a client, I led on a project to codify the charitable giving strategy for a global FMCG firm.

We co-created the key areas of focus for donations that would ensure highest collective impact, developing a philanthropy strategy playbook with a design team.

The playbook was shared with senior stakeholders, and the strategy launched to other employees as part of annual review meetings held at the business.

Lungbarrow’s Insomnia

I wrote, produced and co-directed a play for the prestigious Durham Drama Festival.

The play tackled issues of mental health and loneliness, garnering positive reviews from critics, and winning various awards at the DDF awards ceremony.
